Our Story

Meet Our Founder

Bella is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the 20 Something Girl Magazine. She is a molecular biology masters student at the University of Waterloo with a passion for advocating for representation in science. For years she struggled to navigate her anxiety but was constantly overlooked because it was not deemed 'severe enough' to get access to resources and support. After years of sifting through a sea of wellness content, wasting money on products that didn't fix the problem, and feeling utterly hopeless, she finally started to make progress along her mental health and personal growth journey. She founded the 20 Something Girl Magazine in October of 2025 to create the platform she needed (and still needs). Inspired by a passion project made to summarize her growth journey, her goal is to build a community of women who are learning more about themselves, together.

  • Community

Community is the main pillar of everything we do. Every post, article, interview and event is carefully made with the goal of building a community that lasts. We believe you can do it alone, but that doesn't mean you have to.

  • Self-Learning

We believe that the best way to become your best self is to learn. We aim to provide advice, resources and support to young women as they determine how to be their most authentic selves. It's an opportunity to learn not a lecture.

  • Vulnerability

We thrive when we are able to be vulnerable with ourselves. We hope that the vulnerability in our storytelling will encourage our community to trust themselves and break down the complex experiences they go through.
